didn't exist
before we married,
that for twenty-six
years you were
a story I only
read and never saw
the film, that you
were a rare flower
blooming in a
distant country
I knew I'd never
visit - but oh
how I wanted you
like a taste
indescribable
tho' I knew
I'd love it
when it was
there -
and how
short a breath
is twenty years
married
when you
ask me
what I'm
smiling
about.
