Before & After:
Revitalize the special wedding and family photos in your life that are NEARLY framable.
For example, get rid of your annoying Uncle Chuck from the sidelines in that otherwise great wedding reception photo! Or change the backdrop of your first wedding dance to romantic scenery.
Clear up crackles and spots on your parents' old wedding photo, and then give them a lovely personalized gold frame gift for their 50th anniversary.

Tips
for a Romantic Getaway
by
Mary M. Alward
Is your anniversary
coming up? Have you and your spouse arranged for an anniversary
getaway where just the two of you can have quality time together?
If so, here are a few tips to make your anniversary even more
special.
- Ladies
should make an appointment to have a makeover for the day of
the trip. Have a facial, a manicure and a pedicure. Have the
beautician put on your makeup. Let yourself be completely pampered.
- If your
budget allows, arrange a chauffeured ride to your destination
or to the airport. A limousine will make you both feel special,
and you will have complete privacy while making the trip.
- Be sure
to pack romantic CDs, scented candles, and aromatherapy massage
oils. If you are feeling a little risqué, go to the local
adult shop and buy some play things.
- When you
book your accommodations, ask the manager to have duplicates
of your wedding flowers arranged in vases around your room or
cabin. This will bring back fond memories of the day you were
wed, and you can spend the night cuddled up, reminiscing about
your special day.
- If appropriate,
ask the manager if the chef can recreate the first meal you
shared at your wedding reception. This will bring back even
more memories of your wedding and you will share anecdotes of
who was at the reception and the things that happened that day
.
- If there’s
a beach near your accommodation, stroll along it hand-in-hand
or cuddle up on a blanket and talk until the sun rises.
- If your
room has a balcony, have dinner served there. Add some candles,
a bottle of champagne or wine, and stargaze when the meal is
over. Make a wish on the first star you see or on a shooting
star. You can make the wish together or separately. If you make
it separately, don’t tell each other what your wish was.
Make a note of it and check the following year to see if it
came true. At that time, you should share your wishes and the
results.
- If there
is a masseuse at the hotel or lodging where you are staying,
arrange to have a massage together and ask the masseuse to use
soothing aromatherapy oils.
- Go for
a walk, find a place with a breathtaking view, cuddle up and
enjoy each other’s company. There’s no need for
a lot of words. Just being together should be enough. Many times
silence helps us form a much firmer bond.
- If the
two of you like to hike, horseback ride, or participate in other
outdoor activities together, be sure to schedule these things
into your romantic getaway. Better yet, try something new to
you both. Skydive, go for a hot balloon ride, go white water
rafting, bungee jumping or participate in some other adventuresome
activity.
- Most of
all enjoy the time you spend together. Don’t talk about
problems from home such as kids, finances or other everyday
problems. This is a getaway to relax and get to know each other
all over again. Enjoy!
